Placeholder Page Case Study
Van Isle Homes
Listings, an email button and eight named communities keep a Vancouver Island real estate brand open for business while its new site is prepared.
At a Glance
Van Isle Homes is the real estate brand of a Vancouver Island realtor, and its new website is on the way. Until it arrives, the holding page we designed covers the essentials: a launching-soon badge, a short welcome, an email button, a View Listings link and a strip naming the eight communities served, from Nanaimo and Parksville to the Comox Valley.

The Brief
Buyers and sellers do not pause while a realtor's new website is finished. The holding page had to keep Van Isle Homes reachable and present it with the confidence of a finished brand.
- Make it plain that the realtor is active and ready to help people buy or sell on Vancouver Island.
- Give buyers a direct route to listings before the new site arrives.
- Name every community served, from Duncan to Campbell River, so local buyers see their town straight away.
- Look settled and complete, with nothing that reads as an under-construction notice.
What We Designed
Above the footer, everything sits in a single hero. The brand name and a Launching Soon badge lead into the headline, Your Vancouver Island Real Estate Journey, and a short welcome: a new home online is on the way, and help to buy or sell is available now. The email address follows as a bright sky-blue button, then View Listings, and a Serving Vancouver Island strip names the eight communities.
We paired Cormorant Garamond, a refined serif, with Outfit, a clean modern sans-serif. A deep night-navy background, white and soft slate type, and that single sky-blue accent give the page a calm, premium tone suited to island property, while drawing the eye straight to the contact button. There are no photographs, so type and colour do all of the work.
Areas-served strip
Nanaimo, Parksville, Qualicum Beach, Ladysmith, Duncan, Campbell River, the Comox Valley and Lantzville, listed under Serving Vancouver Island.
Listings access
A View Listings button gives buyers somewhere useful to go while the full site is prepared.
Protected email button
The email address works as a contact button, obfuscated so address-harvesting bots cannot easily collect it.
How We Achieved It
There is no form and no menu, so the calls to action carry the page: write to the realtor, or browse listings. Both sit directly under the welcome. The community strip tells a buyer at a glance whether their town is covered, and the footer adds the realtor's brokerage and Nanaimo office address.
We also designed the full Van Isle Homes site from the ground up, with an about section, community cards with real photos of all eight areas, six service pop-ups, eight area pop-ups, testimonials, a four-step process and a contact form, built as one self-contained file with every image embedded. Until that site goes live, this page keeps vanislehomes.ca working for the business.
